Advice for Road Runners: The Altra Women's Experience Flow Running Shoes were previously named AltraFWD Experience. With an updated upper, these are Altra's neutral running shoes in their Experience line up.
Underfoot Feel
The Altra Experience Flow delivers a light and responsive underfoot feel. This is a result of the lightweight compression-moulded foam that features in the midsole.
Made with a 4 mm drop and prominent rocker geometry, the midsole helps roll your feet forward. It's likely you'll experience a fluid and propulsive sensation as you transition from landing to take-off.
Even though the Altra Experience Flow are neutral running shoes, the broad base feels very stable.
Upper Fit
The Experience Flow feature Altra's signature Standard FootShape™ Fit. This offers a lot of space in the toe box and should let your toes splay comfortably. A supportive midfoot and ankle collar locks the rest of the foot into place. It's not visible on the image, but small internal heel pods increase security.
Ideal Run Type
We suggest using the Altra Women's Experience Flow Running Shoes for your steady paced runs. This is because the responsive foam is likely to feel most comfortable at that level of intensity. Having said that, if you prefer a more responsive sensation in general, these would be very good options.

Sizing Advice
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
